Whatever your interests are, there’s most likely an event for you here in Fredericksburg, TX. Here are several of our favorite events taking place in January and February:
The 10th Annual Black Eyed Pea and Cornbread Cook-off: It’s a time-honored tradition here in Texas that you eat black eyed peas on New Year’s. The legend is that eating black eyed peas on the first day of the year will bring you good luck throughout the year. The 10th Annual Black Eyed Pea and Cornbread Cook-off will take place at Torre di Pietra Vineyards on New Year’s Day. It is a great time filled with good food, award-winning wine, and great live music.
Fredericksburg Trade Days: Fredericksburg Trade Day will take place January 15th to January 17th and February 19th to February 21st. Located at Sunday Farms, Fredericksburg Trade Days are every third Saturday of the month. They are a very unique shopping experience with more than 350 vendors, live music, a biergarten, and more. If you’re looking for an antique or interesting piece for your home, you’re bound to find it at a Fredericksburg Trade Day.
Hill Country Gem and Mineral Show: The next event at the Fredericksburg Rockhounds will be the 47th Annual Hill Country Gem and Mineral Show on January 16th and January 17th. If you are a rock or gem enthusiast, this is the place to be that weekend. There will be a number of exhibits and demonstrations, and gemologists will there to provide answers if you have questions about any mystery rocks you may have as well.
Hill Country Home and Garden Expo: Remember to mark your calendar for the Hill Country Home and Garden Expo, which takes place this year at historic Gillespie County Fairgrounds. The event will take place on February 27th from 9:00-4:00 PM and February 28th from 10:00-3:00 PM. The event is free for children and only $5 for adults. If you’re looking for a new project for your home or you want to meet like-minded home and garden enthusiasts, come out to fairgrounds at the end of February.
