Vintner

From the Old French word vinetier, a vintner is a winemaker or wine merchant. With its sunny and dry climate, Texas is a premier destination for wineries and vineyards.

Home to more than 200 wineries, Texas is the 4th largest wine-producing state in the United States, as well as one of the oldest. The first recorded vintners were Spanish missionaries who produced wine in the 1650s near El Paso. Wine production in Texas Hill Country traces back to the region’s original German settlers, who produced wine using the native mustang grape. Named after our renowned vintners, the Vintner suite at our bed & breakfast in Fredericksburg, TX is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a gathering of old friends. The Vintner exhibits all the country features of a Texas winery, from the wood and stone finishes to its authentic appeal.
