Ruby Cabernet

Ruby Cabernet is a cross between Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. It was developed in the 1940s by Dr. Harold Olma, who wished to combine the Carignan’s high yields with the Cabernet Sauvignon’s supreme quality and strength. Today it is primarily used for bulk wine blending, to enhance the color and flavor of more delicate wines.
